Wetlands by canoe
The central wetland pan system fills up in cyclical periods of around five to seven years and will often retain sufficient water for exploring the area by canoe for most of the years in between.
Canoeing will give access to areas otherwise inaccessible by road or foot and enables the visitor to catch closer sightings of not only many well known species such as flamingos, pelicans, storks, and fish eagles but also the numerous waters edge waders myriad of life from beautiful water lilies to insects habituating the area.
Visitors are advised to bring their own canoe.
